E.ON Bulgaria is a sponsor of the IVth International festival “Danube theatre fest” held in the town of Ruse

The festival is organized by the Dramatic Theater “Sava Ognyanov” – Ruse, Ruse District, “Spectacle of the year” union, association “BalkanArt”- Sofia, club of the figures of culture – Ruse and is held every two years in the middle of October. The festival was held for the first time in 2002 under the auspices of the mayor of the town.
The aim of the initiative is to gather within one week theatre spectacles from countries located along the Danube River and the Balkan Peninsular. The name of the festival is connected with the idea of the meaning of the river as a symbolic bridge between Europe and the Balkans in the cultural field and the opportunity for enhancing the integration relations among the theatrical artists from different countries.
E.ON Bulgaria supports the international cultural cooperation and in that respect designated the sum of BGN 4000 to cover part of the expenses of one of the participants in the festival – the theatre of the town of Osnabruk, Germany.
During the opening ceremony, the spectacle of the Bulgarian Army theatre – “Chaika” was awarded “The ice mask” prize for the best Bulgarian spectacle of the year. The award is founded by the “Spectacle of the year” union and this year is bestowed upon for the first time at the festival.

E.ON Bulgaria was the general sponsor of the ceremony of the Annual Awards of the Bulgarian Association of Regional Media (BARM) and the Senior Vice-president of the company, Dr. Hubert Lechner bestowed the award ‘Bulgarian of Merits’ to the Chairman of the Union of the people’s community centers, Prof. Stoyan Denchev.

That is why I would like to thank the representatives of the regional media for the truthful and correct reflection of the activities of E.ON Bulgaria’, said Dr. Lechner in his speech.

supported the Day of Varna venue

On the occasion of the 128th anniversary of the
Bulgarian Navy on 12th August the Municipality of Varna, with the
financial support staged a show for the crews of the visiting ships
of the navy formation of Black sea countries.
On 15th August being the main sponsor the company
supported the numerous cultural events dedicated to the Day of Varna,
including holy mass service, celebration concerts and oils, etchings,
sculpture and the applied arts exhibition of Varna artists. |

support of the Bulgarian nurses

The spectacular event held on 28 May 2007 at
Locomotive stadium, Sofia was part of the National campaign ‘You are
not alone’. It was initiated by leading Bulgarian media in support
of the nurses in Lybia.
Е.ОN Bulgaria joined the campaign and became one of the five major
sponsors.
The company provided opportunity to nearly 100 business and
household customers as well as employees of the company to express
their support and enjoy the live performance of the great British

The company participated in the organisation of some of the most
significant cultural events.

Celebrating its official foundation as a newly
established company E.ON Bulgaria welcomed guests from the world of
business, politics and the press to a formal reception held in the
National Theatre "Ivan Vazov", Sofia. Commemorating the hundredth
anniversary of the theatre, several famous works were put on stage.
One of the highlights of this event was the play "Antigone", performed
by the Munich Theatre "Kammerspiele". E.ON Bulgaria was the main
sponsor of this unique performance, which had been especially adapted
for the Bulgarian audience and was completely sold out on both
evenings.

In August 2005, E.ON Bulgaria was one of the main sponsors of the
international film festival "Love is folly", which is held annually in
Varna. It attracts an audience of 15,000, including the cultural and the
political elite of Bulgaria, representatives from the local authorities
and journalists.

E.ON Bulgaria sponsors an international tournament “E.ON Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup - Varna 2008 and Queen Margarita Prize”

On 24 and 25 July 2008 Varna is meeting the world elite at the International tournament
"E.ON Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup - Varna 2008 and Queen Margarita Prize" whose General sponsor is E.ON Bulgaria.
Contestants from 9 countries took part in the tournament – Austria, Canada, Azarbejdjan, Israel, Brazil, Bulgaria, Japan, Estonia and Turkey, five of which took part in ensembles. There was a great importance paid on this tournament because it was held only a month before the Olympic Games in Beijing and was the final big competition on which the teams could challenge forces with each other.
In 2006 E.ON Bulgaria undertook supporting the Bulgarian gymnasts of “Iliana” Club in their preparation for their participation at the Olympic Games in Beijing. The support of this international tournament is a logical continuation of this engagement to the sport and an expression of the understanding for social responsibility on behalf of the company.

At a joint pressconference in October 2007, E.ON Bulgaria announced that
it will continue to be a sponsor of the basketball club Cherno more and
a main sponsor of the youth formations of the club in the season
2007/2008. In September 2006 E.ON Bulgaria concluded a sponsorship
contract with the local basketball club Cherno More for the 2006/07
season.
During the last season the youths of Cherno more finished second in the
general ranking of all age groups. “We are glad that thanks to our
sponsorship we succeeded in contributing for this success”, noted Mr.
Paasch.
Initiated by the company, the basketball club received a mascot – a
dolphin and its sincere wishes for lots of luck and success.

Gymnastics Club"

In July 2006 E.ON Bulgaria became the sponsor of the "Iliana Eurhythmic Gymnastics Club" association. The club,
established in 1993 by the World European champion in Eurhythmic
Gymnastics Iliana Raeva was granted 120,000 BGN for a
period of 2 years. The company’s involvement is particularly directed
towards supporting young gymnasts in preparing for 2008 Olympics in Beijing. |

As a general sponsor, the company supported the fifteenth jubilee junior
rowing and sailing sea regatta “Borko” which took place on 15 July 2006
and is tradition for the citizens of Varna. The regatta comprised three
race categories - rowing, sailing and "pushing". Kids ages 10-16 years
participated in the rowing and sailing races, and children 6 mos.-6 yrs.
participated, with their families,in the “pushing” race. The main
objective of the regatta is to prompt more and more families to share
the idea of living in close relation with the sea, and to revive the
rowing and sailing sports in Varna. |

tournament for juniors in Germany |

E.ON Bulgaria sent the young football players of PFC “Spartak” Varna to
the biggest world football tournament for juniors in the German town
Vellmar. The young talents, born between 1993 and 1994, competed with
peers from all over the world. 120 teams, divided into three age groups,
participated in the tournament, which took place simultaneously with the
World Football Championship 2006 in Germany. The euphoria and enthusiasm
of the young football players was indescribable, and the memories of
their experience during the greatest football event in the world will
never be forgotten. |

In September 2005 E.ON Bulgaria sponsored the
International Eurhythmics Tournament, in which contestants vied for the
Queen Margarita of Bulgaria Prize. This already famous
international competition was organized for the 14th time in the
Culture and Sports Palace in Varna.
