E.ON Bulgaria donates a snow plough to the city of Varna

Since signing the privatization contract on 28.10.2004 and acquiring 59% of EDC Varna and EDC Gorna Oriahovitsa respectively, E.ON Energie has been active in Bulgaria for more than a year. Since January 2005 the business activities of the EDCs have been managed by the newly founded local company E.ON Bulgaria, which is headquartered in Varna and to which the shares of EDC Varna and EDC Gorna Oriahovitsa were transferred.
"Almost a year after the company foundation, E.ON Bulgaria, as a Bulgarian firm, sees itself as an entity deeply rooted in the country, which from Varna manages all activities in its distribution region - North eastern Bulgaria" says Mr. Paasch, Chairman of the Management Board of E.ON Bulgaria.

E.ON Bulgaria and its commitment in Bulgaria are meanwhile an integral part of the E.ON Energie group, which was also the reason why the group conference of E.ON Energie with a total of 1000 managers of E.ON companies in Germany and Central Europe took place in Varna.
"I would like to express my gratitude to the mayor, Mr. Yordanov, for the hospitality of Varna," emphasizes Mr. Paasch, "the hospitality we encountered was overwhelming and was perceived very positively by all participants."

As a gesture of gratitude for the good co-operation and support with the organization of the meeting, E.ON Bulgaria would like to thank the city of Varna by making a present. The experiences from the cold and snowy winter suggested the choice of present – a snow plough, which Mr. Paasch will donate today to the mayor of Varna, Mr. Yordanov.

"We feel particularly connected to the location of our headquarters – Varna – and, in future, we would like to co-operate even more closely in terms of a "Public Private Partnership", points out Mr. Paasch.
