Students from the Professional high school of electrotechnics in Varna got acquainted with the working conditions and the safety requirements in the Training center for work safety and operation on facilities of the electricity distribution grid of E.ON BulgariaToday, the Training center for work safety and operation on facilities of the electricity distribution grid of E.ON Bulgaria, which was opened in the end of 2009, was visited by students from the Professional high school of electrotechnics in Varna and their teachers. Some of them are having their consecutive educational and production practice in E.ON Bulgaria Grid. For the time of their stay the students were made visually familiar with the basic rules for safe operation on the facilities of the electricity distribution grid in the lecture room of the training center, and then they toured the specialized training rooms, the training transformer station and the site with overhead and cable lines. A safety inspector from E.ON Bulgaria Grid demonstrated to the students how to climb safely a middle voltage pole and illustratively explained what equipment is used and which are the most important rules that have to be observed to execute safely all the necessary operations. „Here we had the opportunity to see equipment, which is the last cry of engineering. At school we study a subject, which is related to safety, but here we were able practically to reassert and expand our knowledge in the sphere of safety. From tender age I have been dreaming of dealing with electrotechnics and I want to know how to protect myself and the life of others”, shared Victor Milenov, a student in the Professional high school of electrotechnics. „I am impressed by what has been done at the training center. Here, in practice, our students can see the best equipment that is applied in the electrical energy sector. They can touch it and perform certain practical activities. What we miss in the educational sphere is the practical work in safety training of the students and here we can get it”, explained Maria Grozdeva, a teacher in electrotechnical subjects in the Professional high school of electrotechnics in the city of Varna. This is the second time when E.ON Bulgaria has given the use of the training centre to students, in order for them to get familiar with the work safety rules in conditions identical to the real ones. In February, the center was visited by students of the Professional High School of Electrical Engineering and Electronics – Gorna Oryahovitsa. Educating future specialists in high safety awareness is a very important part of the professional skills and the company attaches great importance to setting it up in the early stage of their development. E.ON Bulgaria’s Training Center will continue to welcome its employees and those of its subcontractors, as well as students of professional educational institutions, who would like to acquire competence on safety at work with the electricity distribution grid facilities. The Training Center on Safety at Work and Operation of the facilities of the electricity distribution grid is a part of the Safety without any Compromise Project. E.ON Bulgaria is a third place winner of the “Human Resources and Labor Conditions Investor” in the Annual Awards for Socially Responsible Business 2009 of the Bulgarian Business leaders Forum. |
