Successful completion of the campaign for energy efficiency of E.ON Bulgaria, EVN Bulgaria, CEZ Electro-Bulgaria, TECHNOMARKET, DOMO AND TECHNOPOLISThe discounts for the clients for the purchased more than 10 000 refrigerators class А, А+, А++ amount to more than BGN 680 000.As it was announced in the period 16.12.2009 – 16.01.2010 ., the three electricity distribution companies in Bulgaria - E.ON Bulgaria Sales, CEZ Electro-Bulgaria, and EVN Bulgaria, in partnership with the three big commercial chains for the sale of home appliances and white goods Technomarket, Domo and Technopolis conducted a campaign an energy efficiency campaign. It included a total of 101 outlets in the country. The results of the promotional campaign are more than successful: sales exceeded the expected quantities – for that period more than 10 000 refrigerators of that class had been purchased and the discounts when selling them amounted to over BGN 680 000. The expected effect is to save over 1.5 M - 2 M kilowatt hours of electric power for a year. The campaign was held under the title „Consume effectively, save progressively”, under the auspices of the Ministry of the Economy, Energy and Tourism, the Ministry of the Environment and Waters and the Energy Efficiency Agency. With the implementation of the project and the successful results, the organizing companies are nominated for the category “Investor in Environment” of the annual responsible business awards of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum. Every client of the Technomarket, Domo And Technopolis chains received 10% discount on the price when purchasing a new fridge of a high class of energy efficiency - А, А+ or А++. The discount on the price of the refrigerators is on the account of the five organizing companies. The initiative set forth the goal to promote the usage of energy saving electrical appliances as one of the most efficient ways to reduce the consumption of electricity by the households. According to the experts from the electricity distribution companies, the replacement of the old refrigerator with a new appliance of higher energy class is proven to be among the most effective ways a household to reduce its electricity bill. In comparison an electrical appliance of a high energy efficiency class А/А+/А++ uses two times less electricity than the one of class B. The desire of the organizers of the campaign - E.ON Bulgaria Sales, CEZ Electro-Bulgaria, EVN Bulgaria, Technomarket, Domo and Technopolis is this first step to become a long term initiative and other appliances of the class A to be included in it. Ehancing the culture of electricity spending is a step in intensifying the sensitivity of the public, regarding the topic of environment preservation and preventing climate changes. |
