E.ON Bulgaria opened a new Training center on safety at work and operation of the facilities of the electricity distribution grid

The company invested BGN 255 000 in the construction of the center, to which amount should be added BGN 45 000 in facilities donated by its partners

E.ON Bulgaria opened a new Training center on safety at work and operation at an official ceremony which was held today in the area of the Distribution Services Center in Varna in the presence of representatives of the academic community, partners and employees.

The training center has specialized premises for work on meter boxes and distribution boxes, the operation switch gears, work on cables, lecture room, training transformer station and a site with overhead lines and cable lines so that the employees will be trained in conditions close to the actual environment. The training center on safety will instruct employees of E.ON Bulgaria Grid and its partners – subcontractors.

“The goal of the training center on safety at work and operation is all the electric fitters E.ON Bulgaria to pass at least one training in it per year. The second target is to have training base for our subcontractors and to instruct their employees at the same level of safe and professional work we would like them to carry out. Our plan is next year training to be passed by more than 1000 employees of E.ON Bulgaria and about 200 employees from our subcontractor companies’, shared Mr. Martin Kraus, Member of the Board of Management of E.ON Bulgaria.

The project amounts to BGN 255 000. The company’s partners have also given their contribution for the establishment of the safety at work and operation centre. They have donated samples of the most frequently used equipment in the electricity distribution grid, worth BGN 45 000 – ABB Bulgaria, AREVA T&D SA Bulgaria Branch, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Interkomplex, Kontagent 35, GTT Engineering, Kimtex Bulgaria, Energotel, El Kabel.

The safe work and preservation of the life and health of the employees is a major priority of the policy of E.ON Bulgaria. In the last years the company has undertaken a number of initiatives, which are targeted at developing the professional skills of the employees and at the same time to improve the safety culture, which presents a very important part of the professional competence when operating electrical facilities.
