The thefts of facilities of E.ON Bulgaria in Gabrovo Region are still going on


The thefts of copper wires, ownership of E.ON Bulgaria Grid on the territory of Gabrovo Region, are still going on.

In the beginning of February unidentified feasors stole four copper wires with 240 metres length in Skalsko village, Dryanovo Municipality. This has lead to a breakdown of the electricity supply of 55 customers of the company.

280 meters of copper wire were stolen in Mezhdene village, Gabrovo Municipality, as a result of which 21 customers have been affected. Unidentified thieves tore 560 meters of copper wires in Velkovtsi village, Gabrovo Municipality, as a result of which 13 consumers in the settlement have been left without electricity.

In Selishte village 420 metres of copper wire were stolen, which has affected 10 customers.

Over 30 employees have been involved in the electricity supply recovery at the thefts of part of the facilities, ownership of the company. The caused damages come up to BGN 4436.

We are reminding that only during the first month of the year, on the territory of Gabrovo Region, unidentified individuals committed thefts of facilities, ownership of E.ON Bulgaria Grid at the amount of BGN 17000. Main object of their violations were outfits, containing copper and aluminum wires.

Not only violations on the facilities cause serious financial damages to the company, but thefts are the reason that some settlements in the region are left without electricity. Similar criminal acts disturb the normal scheme of electricity supply of the customers, engage the teams additionally and obstruct them in performing their tasks for maintenance and repair works on the electricity distribution grid.

E.ON Bulgaria has signaled the Ministry of the Internal Affairs about the cases, and the Ministry has started an investigation. The company appeals to its customers to signal on the 24-hour phone line of the company – 0700 161 61, at the price of a city phone call, on the emergency phone line 112 or in the nearest police station in case that they witness similar criminal acts.
