12.02.2009 E.ON Bulgaria became a member of the Club of Corporate Donors
E.ON Bulgaria became a member of the Club of Corporate Donors to the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum. The Bulgarian Donors’ Forum and the Club of Corporate Donors have been striving for recognition and popularization of the responsible corporate donation.
The forum has been unifying, representing and supporting the large donors in Bulgaria since 2004. The foundations and the business donors in the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum give nearly 60% of the private funds, which are given for charity every year in Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian Donors’ forum is a member of WINGS – a world net for support of the donors and a partner of CEENERGI – a regional initiative for corporate donation development.
The role of the business in the development of the civil society has become more and more essential. The Corporate donation has been transforming into a sign for the realized active position of the companies, regarding the changes which occur in society.
E.ON Bulgaria will be officially introduced as a member in the Club of Corporate donors during the Fifth donors’ conference in October 2009.
The company took part in the Fourth donors’ conference “Donation – ethics and publicity”, which was carried out on the 18th of December 2008 in Sofia. Mrs. Daria Maneva, Head of Communications, guided the panel of the conference “Partnerships for a more efficient donation”.
In 2007 the companies in the E.ON Group won the second place in “Largest donor of goods and materials” category. The award was adjudged to E.ON Bulgaria for the donation of a snow-plough for Varna Municipality, the support of a team from the town for participation in a child football tournament in Germany and the donation of 120 benches to hospitals in the town of Varna in 2006.
