According to the Energy Act (EA) prices of electricity in Bulgaria are defined by the State Energy and Water Regulation Commission (SEWRC).

As of 01.07.2011, with resolution № Ц-22/29.06.2011 г., the State Energy and Water Regulation Commission approved the following prices for electricity supply of E.ON Bulgaria Sales AD and for electricity distribution of E.ON Bulgaria Grid:

I. Prices, VAT and excise duty excluded, at which E.ON Bulgaria Sales AD sells electricity to business customers (enterprises with less than 50 employees and annual turnover of up to 19.5 million BGN), as follows:

- by energy tariff

For enterprises with less than 50 employees and annual turnover up to 19.5 million BGN connected to the electricity distribution grid at middle and low voltage

- allowance for green energy for household customers and enterprises with  less than 50 employees and annual turnover up to BGN 19.5 million, connected to the electricity distribution grids low and middle voltage – 0,00372 BGN/кWh,
- price for transmission in the electricity transmission grid – 0,00899 BGN/кWh,
- price for access to the electricity transmission grid – 0,00674 BGN/кWh,
- price for highly effective combined generation of heat and electric power – 0,00286 BGN/кWh.

II. Аccording to the amendments in the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act, considered as of 01.01.2010, electrical power for business customers excise rate is raised from 1,40 BGN to 2.00 BGN per MWh. The amendment was published in State Gazette, #95, on 01.12.2009.

The excise duty affects only the business customers and was first introduced as from 01.01.2007.

III. When paying the prices for consumed active electricity, as specified above, customer also has to pay the price for access and transmission through the distribution grids for respective tariffs and voltage levels to the amount set by SEWRC for the particular distribution company that performed the service on the respective territory.

¹ If you’d like to use another method of measuring of electricity and have your electric meter replaced, please contact the nearest customer service centre of E.ON Bulgaria and submit an application for meter replacement. The service should be paid according to the price list.
